Industrial Electrification and Efficiency: Decomposition Evidence from the Korean Industrial Sector

چکیده
For this study, we conducted a decomposition analysis of industrial electricity consumption based on the logarithmic mean Divisia index approach. An empirical dataset consisting 11 sectors in Korea from 2000 to 2018 was used. The three-factor equation extended include four factors by decomposing energy intensity effect into electrification and efficiency effects. results are summarized as follows: increase Korean sector is mostly caused production effect. While structure decreases consumption, increases it. key findings indicate that hidden can be confusing researchers with regard evidence suggests has positive induced effect, although continuously decreased consumption. some show electrification, rather than contributed most This implies while replacing fuel been successfully achieved several sectors, there still challenges regarding increasing expanding clean generation.

Entrepreneurship and Industrial Clusters: Evidence from China Industrial Census
This article studies the synergy effect of entrepreneurship on China’s industrial clusters. We propose an extension to Duranton and Overman’s (2005) method which enables us to delimit industrial clusters in space. The empirical model is identified with historical measures of local entrepreneur potential in the spirit of Chinitz (1961). We find that measures of entrepreneurship contribute signif...
متن کاملAgricultural Sector and Industrial Agglomeration∗
In many developing countries, agriculture hires at least as many workers as manufacturing industries. We investigate an economic geography model in which agricultural goods are costly to transport and in which manufactures hire labor from the local agricultural sector as unskilled labor. Our conclusions show that the parameters in the agricultural sector are crucial to determine the spatial con...
متن کاملThe Effect of Real Exchange Rate Variability on Industrial Output: Empirical Evidence from OIC
The exchange rate plays an essential role for firms which export goods and import raw materials. In this paper, the effects of real specific exchange rate fluctuations in imports, exports and aggregate trade on industry sector, chemical and transportation industries outputs in 49 OIC countries were investigated by using a panel data model over 1990-2014. Particularly, this paper presents eviden...

The modern American labor law system relating to collective bargaining and industrial relations has emerged from a swirl of common-law, anti-trust and statutes relating to labor injunctions, damage actions and criminal prosecutions. The modern labor law framework is to be found principally in the National Labor Relations Act of 1935 (initially called the Wagner Act) which has been amended in pr...
متن کاملLoad-management applications for the industrial sector
The goal of any load-management program is to maintain, as nearly as possible, a constant level of load, thereby allowing the system load factor to approach 100%. The important bene®ts of load management are reduction in maximum demand, reduction in power loss, better equipment utilisation and saving through reduced maximum demand charges. Load shifting, one of the simplest methods of load mana...
